Now is the time to take care of housing and registration whether you are attending as a delegate or a visitor to the 2009 General Assembly and Conventions in Orlando. General Assembly arrangement staffs want to know you are coming. From November 17-28, 2008, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries/Helping Hands Africa, in cooperation with the Canadian Food Grains Bank and NCM-Canada, hosted a Capacity Building Workshop at the Good News Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, for 23 participants from all over Africa. read more


Africa Region conducts Children's Summit 2008
A Children's Summit was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from December 15-18, 2008. According to Simbarashe Kanenungo, Children's Ministries coordinator for the Africa Region, the goal of the summit was to evaluate strategy and what must be done to have a viable, sustainable, and effective holistic children's ministry in each local church on the Africa Region. Dr. Luther S. Watson passed away January 11 in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Watson served for 68 years at several churches, including three on or near the campuses of Nazarene universities. read more

The campaign for Ambrose University College was recently the beneficiary of one million dollars in support from two anonymous donors. These contributions are designated to support the new campus capital program at Ambrose. read more


NTS launches new emphasis in urban youth ministry
Prospective and professional urban youth workers may now earn a 12 hour graduate certificate in urban youth ministry through a month-long summer education program, via Nazarene Theological Seminary. The certificate program may be taken either as a non-degree educational resource for prospective and professional urban youth workers, or incorporated as part of one of the school's three graduate degree programs. read more


Trevecca announces leadership of new Center for Worship Arts
Dan Boone, president of Trevecca Nazarene University, has announced the leadership team for the university's new Center for Worship Arts. Scotty Smith will serve as senior founding consultant, and Heather Daugherty will be the director of the center. read more
