King Mswati III present as Swaziland launches 'Water for a Generation' project

The Church of the Nazarene has been in Swaziland since the turn of the century and has established a network of services including schools, health care institutions, and colleges to serve the people. This year the Church of the Nazarene celebrates 100 years of existence in Swaziland. In light of the church's history in this country, it is only fitting that on March 26 the King of Swaziland, Mswati III, recognized the role the Church of the Nazarene has played through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in alleviating poverty among the underprivileged and those living with HIV/AIDS. His acknowledgment was made at the Luve Garden during the official launch of the 'Water for a Generation' project. read more

Sudan Southeast holds district assembly and ordination service
|
Earlier this year, muggers attacked a Southern Sudan Nazarene leader and left him for dead on the side of a road. This attempt to stop the work of God across the vast area of Sudan was unsuccessful as God protected John Yual, Sudan Ministries coordinator, and sent others to witness and help him. After days in the hospital, he was released and continues to make a full recovery. In March, Yual helped host the district assembly for the Sudan Southeast District. read more

Temporary tabernacle to permanent church in Senegal
The ARK was delivered in August 2009 as the corn crop was beginning to grow in Senegal. A JESUS Film ARK Partners Trip was responsible for delivering the 16-by-24-foot portable building made of long poles and weather resistant material. The structure was used with such frequency, it was determined that a permanent building should occupy the location. (Slideshow) read more
Ghana North District NYI prayer camp
Approximately 540 young people from the three districts in Ghana raised funds and traveled many kilometers to be part of the Nazarene Youth International prayer camp held November 7-10, 2009, which was organized by the youth of the Ghana North District. (Slideshow) read more

Warm hugs, sentimental reminiscing, and peals of laughter were interspersed with longing looks at the African memorabilia, photos, and flags that covered the tables and lined the walls of the aptly-named Mission Church of the Nazarene in San Diego, California.
