'Kirche in Aktion' ministry opens new branch in Frankfurt
After planting their first church in Mainz, Germany, two years ago, a group of Nazarene youth have opened a second location. KiA, a German acronym for "Kirche in Aktion," or "Church in Action," started in June 2008 with the goal to reach more church-resistant, postmodern young Europeans with the love of Christ through community involvement, acts of service, sharing meals and homes, and worship services. read more


New church charity shop brings 'hope' to community
Hope Charity Shop, an outreach of the Skegoneill/Belfast First Church of the Nazarene in Northern Ireland, opened its doors for business May 15. The new thrift store is designed to help the church build ministry connections with the local community and immigrants. (Slideshow) read more


Ministry to disadvantaged neighborhood expands in U.K.
Ministry to disadvantaged youth in Carlisle, United Kingdom, is expanding again with the acquisition and renovation of a new education building and youth annex set to open in early July. (Slideshow) read more

New U.S. law affects wireless mic use
According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), churches and other organizations using wireless microphones operating in the 700 MHz band (698-806 MHz) were to stop doing so by June 12 or face heavy fines. The FCC estimates that 25 percent of wireless microphones operate with the 700 MHz spectrum. read more

Trevecca breaks ground for alumni center
Trevecca conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for a new alumni center on Monday, June 14. During recent years the university has renovated several buildings, but this construction project is the first brand-new building that Trevecca has built since it broke ground for the Waggoner Library in 1999. read more
